The Carolina Hurricanes have struck a one-year deal with Chris Terry that will pay the forward $875,000 for the 2015-16 season, the team announced Thursday.

Terry, 26, set career highs last season in games played (57), goals (11) and points (20). His 15.5 percent shooting percentage was a team high.

“Chris took another step forward last year and showed that he could contribute offensively at the NHL level,” general manager Ron Francis said in a statement.

Terry played five games with the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL during a conditioning stint last year.
