The Carolina Hurricanes played the longest game in franchise history against the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C.

Carolina Hurricanes forward Teuvo Teravainen, who suffered a broken hand in the opening round of the playoffs, returned to play.

The Florida Panthers prevailed with a 3-2 victory in quadruple overtime, with goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky making 63 saves.
