Watch the Canes take on the Capitals at these 10+ Triangle bars

The first game of the second-round series between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Washington Capitals is Tuesday, May 6.

Some fans may be planning to travel to Washington, D.C. to watch one (or both) of the first two games in person.

But many will choose to stay in town.

If you prefer not to watch the NHL playoff game from your couch, here are some places around the Triangle to catch the action with fellow Canes fans.

Official Canes bars and watch parties

There are several official Canes bars in the Triangle, which will show the games on their televisions:

  • Apex: The Dugout Tavern & Grill, 1413 Kelly Road
  • Cary: Crosstown Pub, 154 E. Chatham St.
  • Chapel Hill: Lapin Bleu, 106-A N. Graham St.
  • Durham: Bull McCabe’s, 427 W. Main St.

  • Fuquay-Varina: The Corner Biergarten, 1625 N. Main St.
  • Raleigh: The Local, 1235 Hurricane Alley Way
  • Raleigh: The Blind Barbour, 3055 Medlin Drive
  • Raleigh: The Players Retreat, 105 Oberlin Road
  • Raleigh: Teets, 425 Glenwood Ave.
  • Wake Forest: Lonerider Hideout & Distillery, 1829 S. Main St.

Carolina Ale House in Cary (2240 Walnut St.) will host the official watch parties for Games 1 and 2. Fans can watch from inside or, weather permitting, bring a lawn chair to watch the game outside on the big screen.

All other Carolina Ale House locations in North Carolina will show the games as well. That includes the Triangle locations in Raleigh, Durham, Garner and Wake Forest.

When do the Hurricanes play?

  • Game 1: Hurricanes at Capitals, May 6, 7 p.m. (ESPN) at Capital One Arena
  • Game 2: Hurricanes at Capitals, May 8, 7 p.m. (ESPN) at Capital One Arena
  • Game 3: Capitals at Hurricanes, May 10, at Lenovo Center
  • Game 4: Capitals at Hurricanes, May 12, at Lenovo Center
  • Game 5 (if necessary): Hurricanes at Capitals, TBD, at Capital One Arena
  • Game 6 (if necessary): Capitals at Hurricanes, TBD, at Lenovo Center
  • Game 7 (if necessary): Hurricanes at Capitals, TBD at Capital One Arena

The winner of the series will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals to play the winner of the series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers. Game 1 of the Toronto-Florida series will be played Monday, May 5.
