Can you tailgate outside Lenovo during the Stanley Cup? Info for Canes fans
As the Carolina Hurricanes are set to begin their home series of the Stanley Cup Finals, major Caniacs without tickets may be wondering if they can go to the Lenovo Center to tailgate.
While you can’t technically tailgate — meaning bring your own food, beverages and seats to hang out with fellow fans — you can spend time outside the arena to cheer on the Canes.
Here’s what you need to know.
Lenovo Center Watch Parties
The best place to watch the Canes take on the Vegas Golden Knights is arguably live, in-person at the Lenovo Center. But tickets are sold out, with the cheapest resale tickets around $1,000, The News & Observer previously reported.
For home games, the Canes will set up screens on the South Plaza of the Lenovo Center for fans without tickets. The Watch Party for Game 1 will include a free pregame concert from country music duo Brothers Osborne, starting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2.
The watch party doesn’t require a ticket. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and fans will have to pay for on-site parking. Outside food and drinks and chairs are not allowed, and restrooms will be available.
For away games, the Lenovo Center will host watch parties in the arena for $10 a ticket, with proceeds going to the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation. Tickets go on sale to season ticket members at 1 p.m. and the public at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 3.

How to watch the Stanley Cup
Games will be shown live on ABC and online at ABC.com, though you will need to share your TV provider and login. You can also stream on ESPN+.
Games 1-4 will be Tuesday, June 2; Thursday, June 4; Saturday, June 6 and Tuesday, June 9. Games 5-7, if necessary, will be Thursday, June 11; Sunday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 17.
All games are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. EST.
