The Stanley Cup is everywhere. Here are photos from Canes’ visit to NC legislature

The Stanley Cup has been making the rounds of Raleigh since the Carolina Hurricanes secured the NHL title in Las Vegas earlier this month. On Tuesday, just days after a joyous and raucous celebration in downtown Raleigh and later Glenwood South, Lord Stanley’s Cup got serious.

Carolina Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal carried the Stanley Cup into and out of both the House and Senate chambers. He was joined by coach Rod Brind’Amour, alternate captain Jordan Martinook and Carolina Hurricanes CEO Brian Fork.

“North Carolina is a hockey state now, thanks to you all and the work you’ve done,” House Speaker Destin Hall said.
