McGinn reassigned to Checkers

The Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday reassigned forward Brock McGinn to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.

Recalled by the Hurricanes on Oct. 14, McGinn, 21, earned two points in his NHL debut at Detroit on Oct. 16 and had two goals and an assist in 12 games during his first NHL stint. McGinn scored his first NHL goal on his first shift against the Red Wings.

McGinn scored a pair of goals in two AHL games for Charlotte prior to his recall, and has 17 goals and 12 assists in 79 career AHL games.
