Canes recall McGinn from Checkers
The Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday recalled forward Brock McGinn from Charlotte of the American Hockey League.
The Canes lost forward Phil Di Giuseppe to an upper-body injury Saturday during the 2-1 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators. Canes coach Bill Peters said after the game that Di Giuseppe injured his neck and shoulder, and that he went through the concussion protocol.
McGinn, 21, has two goals and an assist in 14 games with the Canes this season. Since his reassignment to Charlotte in December, the has 12 points in nine AHL games.
The Canes left Sunday for games Monday in Edmonton and Wednesday in Vancouver.
