Fund established to support Henley family
The Raleigh hockey community is rallying to support Justin Henley’s family after his death Monday in a motorcycle accident.
Henley, 19, was killed when his motorcycle veered across the centerline and collided with a car in North Raleigh. Henley was active in youth hockey programs. His father, Steve Henley, is executive director and director of hockey of the Junior Hurricanes program.
The Justin Henley Memorial/Funeral Fund has been established and nearly $45,000 has been raised. Funds will be used to pay for funeral services, lost work time, family travel and other costs associated with the accident. Donations can be made through GoFundMe/jhenley.
“The hockey family has always been a tight community for each other, and never has there been a more needed time to demonstrate this than now,” said a statement on the Raleigh Youth Hockey Association/Junior Hurricanes home page.
