Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk was injured late in Thursday’s team practice at Raleigh Center Ice.
Faulk, a two-time All-Star, was banged into the boards during a collision with forward Brad Malone during a drill. He came up slowly and was favoring a leg, slamming down his stick in frustration before leaving the ice for treatment.
Canes coach Bill Peters did not have an update on Faulk’s condition after practice. Faulk, who leads the Canes with 34 points, was taken to the treatment room at RCI by head trainer Pete Friesen.
The Canes face the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday at PNC Arena.
