Murphy, McGinn, Ryan recalled

The Carolina Hurricanes on Monday recalled defenseman Ryan Murphy and forwards Brock McGinn and Derek Ryan from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.

Murphy, 22, has earned four assists in 19 NHL games this season, and has seven goals and 15 assists in 30 Checkers games.

McGinn, 21, made his NHL debut this season and has three goals and an assist in 19 games with the Canes. He has 14 goals and 14 assists in 38 games with Charlotte this season.

It’s the first career NHL recall for Ryan, 29. He leads all Checkers skaters in goals (17) and points (42) this season in 55 games. Ryan had 15 goals and 45 assists in 55 games for Orebro of the Swedish Hockey League last season.
