Late goal fells Courage

The North Carolina Courage allowed a late goal to Sky Blue FC to fall 1-0 in a close game. The loss drops the Courage to 5-2 at home and 8-4 overall in NWSL. The late goal came off the foot of Samantha Kerr, with an assist by Maya Hayes in the 84th minute.

Despite an extra five minutes of extra time, the Courage could not find the equalizer.

The Courage will take on the Seattle Reign on Saturday with an opportunity to extend the team’s first-place lead.
