Local food truck chef on Food Network’s ‘Cutthroat Kitchen’

Chef Paul Inserra of the Durham-based food truck American Meltdown will compete on Sunday night’s episode of “Cutthroat Kitchen” on the Food Network.

The American Meltdown truck specializes in souped-up grilled cheese sandwiches, making Inserra’s competition a fitting one: he’ll compete against other food truck chefs in a breakfast sandwich showdown.

The show, hosted by Alton Brown, airs at 10 p.m. Sundays on Food.

Note: Just before this airs, Raleigh food truck Pho Nomenal Dumplings competes on the new season of “The Great Food Truck Race.” That starts at 9 p.m.
