Woman Horrified at Child's Bikini for Sale-Then Makes Realization
A woman was horrified when she spied what appeared to be an advert for a child’s bikini with something strange about it-but then realization dawned on her.
Amanda Joy Napolitano, who posts to Threads under the username @ajoy4jax, took to the site on April 13 where she shared a screengrab from a Walmart advert that popped up on her feed while scrolling Facebook.
It appeared to be a tiny two-piece pink swimsuit, covered in strawberries-and with a hole in the front of it.
Napolitano wrote: “This Walmart ad came up on my feed today and I am seriously like what in the world? WHY ON EARTH is there a hole in the front of a little girl’s bathing suit?!”
But it didn’t take long for her to learn the truth-as, after clicking into the advert, it showed a model wearing the swimsuit.
That model? A tiny dog, with its tail poking out through the hole in the bottom.

Napolitano’s initial post received close to 60 likes at the time of writing, but the update-featuring the adorable furry model-racked up more than 10 times that.
“I’m with you. Dog swimsuit is NOT the first thing I saw,” one commenter wrote, as another agreed: “You got me. Although I’m now wondering why a dog needs a swimsuit.”
“Why TF [the f***] do a dog need a bikini,” a third said-and a fourth joked: “It’s so they can pee easier into the pool.”
While a swimsuit for a dog is unusual, it is common to see pets wearing clothing to keep them warm.
Specialized sweaters and coats for dogs can help to keep them warm, and boots can protect their paws from snow, ice, and chemicals used to treat roads and sidewalks in the winter.
Whether a canine needs clothing to stay warm can depend on their breed, as dogs with double-layered coats, such as Siberian huskies and Samoyeds, will not need the same protection as a thin-coated pup like a Basenji.
