Husky Gets Banned From Daycare, Hysterics Over His Response When Collected

A husky's brief but memorable stint at doggy daycare has become a viral sensation on Reddit.

The slideshow, titled "This is the face of a boy who got banned from his doggy daycare," has earned more than 9,200 upvotes at the time of writing.

In the first image, the husky beams proudly; in the second, he snoozes peacefully-apparently exhausted from a day that did not go as planned.

User caffeine5000, the dog's owner, explained that the husky and his two canine siblings were meant to spend the entire day at daycare. Instead, the family received an unexpected call, they wrote: "Forty‑five minutes after drop‑off, we got the call to come get him.”

According to research, the U.S. pet daycare industry is booming-valued at $1.7 billion in 2024 and projected to grow and potentially reaching $3.9 billion by 2034. But even in a rapidly expanding market, not every dog becomes a long‑term customer.

This husky's ban stemmed from his ability to outsmart the facility's layout. According to the owner, he repeatedly "hopped" over the 5‑ to 6‑inch walls separating different play areas. Staff members didn't catch him in the act, but the security cameras did.

In the comments, the owner elaborated: "There is supposed to be a human in each play area. But they have indoor and outdoor spaces, so I'm guessing the human was outside while he was hopping between yards inside."

Despite the rule‑breaking, the staff seemed more impressed than upset. "The [staff] were more impressed than angry with him since he was the first to accomplish this since they remodeled with ‘non‑scalable' walls! I get it, it's company policy. But he loves going!" the owner wrote.

His "punishment," however, was far from a hardship. Instead of daycare, he enjoyed a trip to a hardware store, a visit to a friend's house with dogs to play with, and even a stop at a brewery.

The second photo-showing him fast asleep-was taken on the way to pick up his sisters, who had remained at daycare for the full session.

The owner concluded that the behavior was simply instinctual. The American Kennel Club describes Siberian huskies as having an "amiable and even mischievous expression." Known for their agility and effortless gait, they are quick, nimble, and often eager to test boundaries.

Reddit Reacts

The comments section quickly filled with laughter and admiration for the husky's athleticism and attitude.

One user joked: "The daycare has now learned that to test the quality of walls and fences, hire an off‑leash husky."

Another added: "Huskies and Belgians are the worst for walls. Thank goodness my mom's don't jump. They're lazy enough a 5' is just a watching game for them to perch on and see the outside. They don't need to scale it. They could just hop over."

A third summed up the general sentiment: "He looks quite proud of himself!"
