Dachshund Said a Big 'Nope' To Going Outside and Clearly Meant It

Some dogs hear the leash jingle and lose their minds.

Some sprint to the door like they have been waiting all day for this exact moment.

And then there's Cashew, a Dachshund puppy, who apparently sees "going outside" as an offensive suggestion that requires negotiation, emotional support, and unfortunately, one accidental head bonk.

I have a love/hate relationship with my dog cam If I check my cameras and see my bulldog crying like this, I'm immediately going home #animals#lavellemaslow#dogmom#pets#fyp#fypシ#viral#englishbulldog#dogs#doglover#bulldogs#bulldog#sad

original sound - Lavelle & His Mama

There's never been a more @lavelle_maslow clip than this, because it's just like the throwback to what garnered him internet fame in the first place.

The only thing he started adding over recent months is the emotionally-charged, sad cries, which are enough to convince anyone to give him all their cash.

Talk about a master manipulator! He's just so precious, I'd get in my car so fast!

For a long time now, the English Bulldog has been "making calls" to try to get Mom to come home. Technically, he's just figured out how to trigger the video alert, but since he gets a response, he now knows to do it every time he wants attention and it's *chef's kiss*.

Lonely - Akon

Since Lavelle's been at the video game, he's captivated nearly 100k TikTok followers with each and every new video.

The sassy boy isn't trying to be anyone other than himself, even when it means giving attitude, or ignoring Mom whenever he feels like it.

Even with his dramatic meltdowns, he's a cutie.

The boy's had the power of suggestion down as long as he's been alive. One look into those sad-looking puppy dog eyes and you'd be running home to give him everything he wants, guaranteed.

It's a real talent to be this adorable. Or is it a crime? Either way, how could anyone not do as he suggests?

Because if you have ever had a stubborn dog, you know sometimes the routine becomes less "come on, let's go" and more "how do I outwit this tiny, dramatic roommate today?" One comment says, "I have to manipulate my ween to go out... When he is cuddling with me, I pick him up to go get the leash cause if I don't, he will run and hide under the bed." That is such a perfect Dachshund parent sentence; it should probably be framed.

Meanwhile, if I even look at the leash, my dog Lola is basically yelling LET'S GO before I have moved an inch. So I am deeply amused by the idea of having to convince a dog to participate in the walk they are about to enjoy.

Cashew, though, is clearly a pup who likes to be consulted.

Repeatedly.

How To Help a Stubborn Dog Who Refuses To Go Outside

If your dog resists going outside, the goal is usually to make the process feel predictable, safe, and worth it. For stubborn or sensitive breeds, that can mean pairing the leash and harness with treats, keeping departures calm, practicing in short steps, and avoiding turning the doorway into a pressure-filled showdown. Humane World for Animals recommends positive reinforcement and building good associations instead of forcing the issue, because dogs tend to repeat what feels rewarding.

Sometimes it also helps to zoom out and ask what the pup dislikes: the harness, the weather, the noise outside, or just the interruption of a very good nap. Figure that out, and the standoff often starts making a lot more sense.

Honestly, Cashew acted like that walk invitation needed to be reviewed by legal first.
