Iconic '90s Tag Team Hardy Boyz Ranked as the WWE's Second Greatest of All Time
Throughout WWE history, the company has introduced the world to many tag teams that fans grew to love. Whether it was The Hart Foundation, The Dudley Boyz, The New Age Outlaws, The Brothers of Destruction, The British Bulldogs, or more, each left their mark on fans around the world. Still, one '90s duo who became known for their high-flying and risk-taking style was listed above all those pairs on a ranking of the best WWE tag teams ever.
The Iconic '90s High-Flying Duo Named Among WWE's Greatest Tag Teams
In September 2025, Ranker updated its article, which allows wrestling fans to vote on the "Best Tag Teams in WWE History." After tens of thousands of votes, the Legion of Doom took the No. 1 slot. Falling just barely behind them, the Attitude Era's Hardy Boyz were chosen as the second greatest WWE tag team of all time by fans.
For anyone who has watched the careers of Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy, it is very easy to understand why they were ranked so high on the list. After all, they captivated viewers for many years with the death-defying risks they took in the ring, which helped create some of the most beloved tag team matches ever. Their three-way feud with The Dudley Boyz and Edge & Christian produced enough stellar matches alone for them to deserve to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
In addition to being excellent in the ring, the real-life brothers also connected with wrestling viewers like few talents ever had. Even when they were completely silent as The New Brood, they carried themselves with so much charisma and effortless cool energy that fans couldn't look away. That only improved over time as they perfected their look, formed Team Xtreme with Lita, and proved they loved the business just as much as, if not more than, the fans did.
Simply from a numbers perspective, the Hardy Boyz have a strong argument for being an all-time pairing. After all, they won the WWE Tag Team Championship six times. They also obtained the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship and the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship once each. Most recently, they became the NXT Tag Team Champions in 2025 thanks to the WWE's partnership with TNA Wrestling. That allowed them to hold WWE tag team gold again decades after they debuted with the company in the 1990s.
Those are only a fraction of the things that the Hardy Boyz accomplished in WWE. They also deserve to be celebrated for everything they accomplished outside of the company, including becoming the talk of the wrestling world following The Final Deletion. Ultimately, there truly is an extremely strong argument that they could be the greatest tag team of all time.
