Emu Crashes Ducks' Pool Time and Nobody Seems To Mind

Pool time on TikToker Chloe's (@plantyquill) farm is usually reserved for the ducks, but her emu apparently didn't get the memo one afternoon. In this funny video, the oversized bird casually slips into the ducks' pool party and makes himself completely at home.

What makes the whole scene even funnier is that the ducks don't seem to mind one bit. Everyone is splish-splashing around together as if sharing a kiddie pool with an emu is the most normal thing in the world. The unlikely gathering has us all smiling and wishing we could pull up a chair and join the fun.

Chloe made us laugh when she joked in the caption, "In the club, we all fam!" Seems that this emu has the perfect setup!

Do Emus Like the Water?

We had no idea that emus enjoy splashing around like ducks, but they actually love the water. Billabong Sanctuary notes that they're also surprisingly good swimmers, and they can even cross rivers, according to the Phoenix Zoo.

But emus have a unique way of bathing when it comes to birdbaths. "When bathing, they don't splash themselves using their wings as other birds do. They will flop down in a waterhole and roll from side to side until the feathers are thoroughly soaked. Then they stand up and shake themselves like a wet dog. A wet emu smells rather like a wet dog as well and is a wretched sight."

The Phoenix Zoo also shared this fun fact: "Our emus enjoy a good soaking with the hose or sitting under the sprinklers or misters on a hot day. Occasionally, while getting sprayed by the hose, they will roll over on their side in the mud and kick their legs in the air!"

That's something that we'd all love to see!
