Incubator HQ Raleigh to expand footprint downtown
HQ Raleigh, a business incubator in the city’s warehouse district, plans to expand into an adjacent building that it acquired last week for $900,000.
The building is on West Street directly behind HQ Raleigh’s existing space at 310 S. Harrington Street. HQ Raleigh plans to convert the 10,000-square-foot building into a 30,000 to 50,000-square-foot space that will have offices for large startup teams as well as work, design and meeting space.
The new space is expected to open by the spring of 2016. To accommodate expansion until then, HQ Raleigh said it is working with Empire Properties to lease space at 311 S. Harrington.
HR Raleigh opened in its current location in March. It says it has maintained a waiting list of more than 15 companies and now has a membership of more than 105 startups.
