Toyota Still Has Reasonably-Priced Lease Deals for the Grand Highlander
The 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander in a Nutshell
When Toyota introduced the Highlander in 2001, it kicked off a wave of midsize, three-row SUVs, and the market hasn't looked back since. Today, the model is one of the brand's consistent sellers, though the next-generation model will be an electric crossover, so its duties will effectively be passed to the Grand Highlander.
The Grand Highlander debuted in 2023 for the 2024 model year, serving as a larger, more premium version of its namesake. Not only does it need to contend with the Honda Pilot and Nissan Pathfinder, but it also faces the Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride. So far, it hasn't received a facelift, but constant updates keep it bang up to date.
2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Lease Deals for April
This month's lease deal for the Highlander is for the XLE AWD model. It sits just above the LE, and there's a fair amount of standard kit in it. This month's offer is $409 for 36 months, with $4,999 due at signing. It undercuts several similarly sized crossovers, though it couldn't quite match that of the Hyundai Palisade. Comparing it to last month's offer, the XLE AWD is cheaper to lease this time around.
By the time this is published, there are still a few days left to avail of the lease promo, as it's valid until May 4, 2025. Typical of all Toyota leases, it's $0.15 per mile for each mile over the annual mileage limit of 10,000.
2026 Toyota Grand Highlander Highlights
There's no shortage of trim selections for the Grand Highlander with ten to choose from. Prices range from $41,860 to $59,775, so prices actually went up by about $200 over last month's base prices. As for the trims, it's LE, Hybrid LE, XLE, Hybrid XLE, Limited, Hybrid Limited, Platinum, Hybrid Nightshade, Hybrid Max Limited, and Hybrid Max Platinum.
Standard equipment on all Grand Highlanders includes Toyota Safety Sense advanced driver-assist features, a power tailgate, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and tri-zone climate control. XLE models feature leather, front seat heaters, and wireless charging, while the Limited adds heated and ventilated front seats, memory seats, an 11-speaker JBL sound system, a digital instrument cluster, and hands-free tailgate. The Nighshade serves as the 'black edition' model, while the Platinum gets everything fitted into the Limited, plus ventilated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, and surround-view monitors.
Non-hybrid models come with a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine with 265 hp, while the hybrids pair a 2.5-liter Atkinson Cycle engine with a single motor, giving it a combined output of 245 hp. As for the Hybrid Max Grand Highlander, it combines the turbo-four engine with a hybrid drive system for a total output of 362 hp. Only Hybrid Max models come standard with all-wheel drive, but it's optional for the rest.
Final Thoughts
The Highlander and Grand Highlander are safe bets in the midsize three-row crossover class. However, the latter is a no-brainer for those who need more space. Sure, it won't drive as sharply as its smaller, shorter counterpart, but no one buys this kind of crossover to chase driving pleasure. As a family shuttle, it's hugely competent, and even the third row is genuinely habitable for adults. It won't win you over with design, but you'll love its sheer sensibility.
