Overview
The 2026 Chevrolet Trailblazer subcompact crossover SUV sits between the smaller Trax and the larger Equinox in Chevrolet's current lineup. Two engines power the four-trim range, paired with front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as an option on every configuration. Chevy Safety Assist, which bundles six active safety systems, is standard throughout, and an 11-inch touchscreen with wireless smartphone integration is fitted across all trims. The Trailblazer draws its customers from urban buyers looking for a connected, practical daily driver on a budget.
What's New for 2026
The 2026 Trailblazer is a carry-over model with a narrow set of changes. Apex Red and White Sands join the color palette as new additions for this model year. Nitro Yellow Metallic and Crimson Metallic are discontinued. A Midnight Edition package becomes available on the LT, adding high-gloss black mirror caps, a blacked-out grille bar, black bowtie badges, 18-inch all-black wheels, and black roof rails.
A tire-inflation kit is now standard across all trims, while the spare tire becomes an option. The powertrain, trim structure, and standard feature list are otherwise unchanged from 2025.
Exterior
The Trailblazer's upright stance maximizes interior volume within a 174.07-inch overall length that suits urban environments. A wide front fascia and LED headlights define the face across all trim levels, while wheel size and finish vary with the grade. The LS rides on 17-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels, and the LT moves to 17-inch high-gloss black machined aluminum units. ACTIV and RS trims step up further, with the RS wearing 19-inch high-gloss black machined wheels and a sport rear spoiler. The ACTIV takes a different direction with a black mesh grille, body cladding, and a functional skid plate that hints at its mild off-road intent.
Interior
The 11-inch HD touchscreen running Chevrolet's Infotainment 3 Plus system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard on every Trailblazer. An 8-inch Driver Information Center display serves instrument duties. The LS and LT use cloth seating, while the ACTIV moves to Evotex faux-leather with heated front seats and an 8-way power driver seat.
The RS adds red interior accents and a heated flat-bottom steering wheel. Rear legroom of 39 inches is generous for adults, and cargo capacity is a decent 25.3 cu-ft, with the split-folding rear seats liberating 54.4 cu-ft and a fold-flat front passenger seat creating up to 8.5 feet of load length, a unique practical feature in this segment.
Price Range and Best Value Trim
The 2026 Chevrolet Trailblazer price range spans across four trims before factoring in drivetrain upgrades and optional packages. The LT delivers the best value, adding keyless entry and start, remote start, silver roof rails, and deep-tinted rear glass over the base LS for $1,200 more, while also opening access to the optional Midnight Edition package.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- A unique fold-flat front passenger seat in this segment.
- 1.3-liter FWD returns 31 mpg combined, placing it near the top of the segment.
- Standard wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the 11-inch touchscreen.
- Cargo capacity is generous in the extra-small SUV class.
Cons
- Limited basic warranty.
- 1.2-liter base engine struggles to maintain momentum under load.
- Hard plastic surfaces and material quality falls below rivals.
- No integrated navigation is available on any trim.
Verdict
The 2026 Trailblazer enters the year with minimal changes and a competitive starting price that holds steady as a reasonable entry into the segment. The LT is the right starting point for most buyers, covering some essential features and staying clear of the pricier ACTIV and RS trims. The three-year basic warranty remains the most notable ownership caveat against rivals, and buyers who prioritize ride refinement or rear-seat space will find the likes of the Hyundai Kona and Kia Seltos more complete alternatives in the same price range.
