$2 million lottery ticket in Lumberton remains unclaimed

Someone in Lumberton bought a North Carolina Powerball lottery ticket and won $2 million in Saturday’s drawing, but the money hasn’t been claimed yet.

The ticket matches all five numbers on the winning white ball numbers 17-21-26-47-54, winning $1 million and beating the odds of 1 in 11.7 million, according to the N.C. Education Lottery. The prize doubled to $2 million when the 2X multiplier was drawn.

The red Powerball number was 7.

Atkinson’s Cigarette Land on West 5th Street in Lumberton sold the winning ticket.

As of 1 p.m. Sunday, the prize hadn’t been claimed.

The winner has 180 days since Saturday’s drawing to claim the prize.
