Amtrak adds train for Carolina Panthers fans Sunday

Amtrak is adding a special train from Charlotte to Raleigh on Sunday night to bring Carolina Panthers fans back to the Triangle.

The start time for the Panthers game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was moved to 4:25 p.m., too late for fans to catch the evening Piedmont train back to the Triangle. So a special Panthers Train will depart Charlotte at 9 p.m. and arrive back in Raleigh at midnight, with stops in Cary and Durham.

The mid-day Piedmont to Charlotte departs Raleigh at 11:45 a.m. and arrives at about 3 p.m. For more information and to book tickets, go to ncbytrain.org.
