Police identify homicide victim as Durham teen

A teen was shot to death early Sunday morning in the 1500 block of Braxton Street, Durham police reported.

Police identified the teen as Erick Valencia Diaz, 24, of Durham. The shooting does not appear to be random, according to a police department news release.

Officers were dispatched at 2:11 a.m. to a shooting call, according to a police department news release. Police found the victim with a gunshot wound.

No charges have been filed, police said.
