RDU airport holds contest to celebrate record year
Raleigh-Durham International Airport officials expect nearly 11 million people will walk through the gates this year – the highest number of passengers at RDU in a single year.
To celebrate, the Airport Authority is launching a “Your Story” contest to thank its customers for using the airport this year.
RDU customers can upload a photo and short story about their travels from the airport in 2016 at www.rdu.com/story. On Wednesday, Dec. 21, the airport will announce a winner on Facebook. That person will receive a travel gift card, gift basket from The Shops of RDU and a behind-the-scenes tour of the airport.
“Our record growth simply wouldn’t be possible without each customer choosing to fly from RDU to one of our 46 nonstop destinations,” said Kristie VanAuken, RDU vice president for communications and community affairs. “Our ‘Your Story’ contest is a fun and engaging way to thank our customers for their support.”
