Morrisville apartment building evacuated, 2 taken to hospital because of ‘gas odor’
A Morrisville apartment building was evacuated and two people were taken to area hospitals after a “gas odor” was reported.
The Morrisville Fire/Rescue Department and a hazmat team are investigating the cause of the odor, according to the town. The town’s news release did not call it a “gas leak.”
The apartment building on the 5100 block of Sterling Green Drive was evacuated “as a precaution,” according to the town. Three people were treated, but were in stable condition as of about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, but were in stable condition. Two others were taken to area hospitals.
“There is no danger to anyone in the area,” town spokeswoman Stephanie Smith said in a news release.
No additional information was immediately available.
