Highway Patrol identifies passenger killed in Wake crash
A head-on collision Saturday morning killed a teenage driver from Wendell and a passenger.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Wake Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening and later released, the State Highway Patrol said in a new release.
Christian Lynn Lockamy, 16, of Wendell was driving a 2006 Saturn east on Rolesville Road near Wendell about 10:15 a.m. when Lockamy veered left of center and collided head-on with a 2008 Mercedes, the Highway Patrol said.
Lockamy died at the scene, and Lockamy’s front-seat passenger was taken to Wake Medical Center but later died. The passenger was identified as Than'ayha Mary McCullers, 15, of Wendell, the Highway Patrol said.
Alcohol or speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, the Highway Patrol said.
