Raleigh man accused of posting Craigslist ads offering girlfriend’s mom for ‘random sex’
Wake County sheriff’s deputies have accused a 25-year-old man with posting Craigslist ads directing people to have “random sex” with his girlfriend’s mother because she was “bored at work.”
Investigators charged David Carl Pitney Stewart of 1509 Alderman Circle in Raleigh with one misdemeanor count each of stalking and resisting, and delaying and obstructing an officer, according to records filed Tuesday at the Wake County Clerk of Courts office.
Stewart became the focus of a sheriff’s investigation when his girlfriend’s mother received 30 phone calls and 20 texts between April 28 and May 1 from people who wanted to arrange to have sex with her at work, according to a search warrant filed at the county clerk’s office.
The woman “immediately suspected” Stewart. It is the policy of The News & Observer to not make public the names of people who are the alleged victims of sex offenses.
She told sheriff’s deputies she suspected Stewart was retaliating against her because she had told police he was a heroin user who had injected her daughter with the drug, court records show. The woman filed a police report and obtained a protective order against him, the search warrant said.
Investigators have accused Stewart of posting two fraudulent Craigslist ads on April 28. The first listed the woman’s cellphone number for people wanting directions to pick up a free washing machine. The second listed the “sex special,” court records show. Investigators targeted Stewart after determining the man used his own phone number and email for the ad postings.
Stewart was arrested May 28 and released the same day after posting a $7,000 bond, a jail spokesman said.
