Fire guts apartment complex near Crabtree mall

A fire gutted an apartment complex Saturday afternoon near the Crabtree Valley Mall in North Raleigh.

The complex in the 5000 block of Edwards Mill Road was evacuated as firefighters battled the blaze. One person was taken to a hospital, and several vehicles were destroyed.

The Pinnacle Apartments has about 10 units.
