A former teacher’s assistant at Wake County’s Longview School in Raleigh was charged Monday with having sex with a student at a school for students with behavioral issues.

Victoria Ansleigh Marie Kosciuszko, 25, of 101 W. Camden Forest Drive, in Cary turned herself over to Wake County sheriff’s investigators, who had sworn out a warrant for her arrest on a charge of sex offense with a student, which is a felony.

In the warrant, authorities said Kosciuszko had intercourse with the male student between Dec. 1, 2013 and Jan. 1 of this year, although the warrant for her arrest was not issued by a magistrate until Sept. 15.

Deputies said in the warrant that Kosciuszko was a teacher at Longview on North King Charles Road. However, Wake County Public School System spokeswoman Lisa Luten said Kosciuszko had been hired as a teacher’s assistant in August 2013 and resigned Jan. 2.

Arrest records listed her as unemployed.

Longview has both middle and high school students who, according to the school’s online statement, “have experienced behavioral difficulty in a regular school setting.”

She is scheduled to be in court in Wake County on Thursday in a case involving a Sept. 2 arrest in which sheriff’s deputies charged her with driving while impaired, having an open container of alcohol in the passenger area of her car and driving with a license that had been revoked for 30 days.

She also has a court date in Pender County on Oct. 22 on accusations of driving while impaired, reckless driving, speeding and driving with a revoked license on March 13.
