Police on Wednesday charged a 25-year-old city man with sex offenses and an alcohol violation in connection with what they said was a meeting with a 15-year-old boy that was set up on an Internet dating site.

Frank Delbert Wenner of Meridien Parkway in Durham was being held in lieu of $1 million bail Thursday.

Police charged him with providing beer or wine to a juvenile, taking indecent liberties with a child, kidnapping, statutory rape/sex offense with someone under 16 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Investigators declined to discuss details of the case, including what website was involved and when they believe the meeting happened.

Wenner also faces a felony indictment in Wake County for driving while impaired. Raleigh police arrested him on Blue Ridge Avenue on March 15, records showed.

Wenner is due in Wake County Superior Court on Jan. 25.
