Raleigh police: Wake man, Detroit resident had hundreds of MDMA doses
A man from Michigan and one from Wake County were each charged Saturday with having between 100 and 500 doses of the party drug Molly, arrest records show.
Kevin Geeavonti Weems, 29, of 7220 Lowery Meadow Drive, near Wendell, was charged with five counts of trafficking in MDMA, a controlled substance that is known as Molly, among other names.
Weems also was charged with resisting arrest for what a warrant said was trying to run from police at the scene of a controlled drug buy, meaning one that police had set up.
Donjuan Cortez Raymore, 35, of 20553 Forrerr St. in Detroit, Mich., was charged with two counts of MDMA trafficking and with using a 2016 Toyota Camry with Michigan license plates to store drugs.
Both men were charged at Raleigh police detective headquarters, according to arrest records.
Police said the controlled buy happened in Raleigh, but they declined to be more specific. They would not say whether the two arrests involved the same transaction, saying each was part of an ongoing investigation.
Raymore was held in lieu of $350,000 bail. Weems was held in lieu of $750,000 bail. Both were set for Monday court appearances.
