Raleigh police charge man took indecent liberties with 2 girls
A city man was charged Wednesday night with taking indecent liberties with two girls during 2015 and through mid-April of this year.
Peter Lewis McGettigan, 59, of 8005 Knebworth Court was charged by detectives from the police department’s unit that handles crimes against children.
Arrest warrants list one count of taking indecent liberties with a child and one count of statutory sex offense with a child under 15 years old, both involving one girl.
A second girl was cited in two counts of taking indecent liberties.
Both warrants cited all of 2015 and through mid-April for when the incidents happened.
Police said both girls knew McGettigan before the alleged offenses began. Because the charges are based on the girls’ being under certain ages, their exact ages were not disclosed.
McGettigan was being held in lieu of $900,000 bail for a Thursday court appearance.
