Apex High School was evacuated Friday morning after an accident in a chemistry lab caused a small fire and slightly injured one student, Wake County Public School System officials said.
One student was slightly injured and was treated at the school by Emergency Medical Services staff, spokesman Matt Dees said.
Firefighters got the call for the accident just before 10 a.m.
The school was evacuated as a precaution, Dees said, but administrators planned to resume classes as soon as firefighters gave them an all-clear.

The school notified parents of the incident, and several came to the school, firefighters indicated.
