Libertarian US Senate candidate Sean Haugh recovering from heart attack
Sean Haugh, the Libertarian Party’s candidate for U.S. Senate in North Carolina, says he suffered a heart attack this week but is expected to recover.
Haugh is a Durham pizza delivery driver who’s making his second run for Senate. He faces Republican incumbent Richard Burr and Democrat Deborah Ross, and is known for his low-budget YouTube videos where he sips craft beer and explains his position on campaign issues.
“On Tuesday I had a heart attack and was admitted to Duke Hospital where I am receiving fabulous care,” Haugh posted on Facebook Friday morning. “Later today I’ll have some stents implanted. If all goes according to plan, I can go home tomorrow.
“Odds of my continuing existence remain high. There will be follow up treatment over the next week and then I should be mostly back to normal shortly after.”
