NCDOT Secretary Tony Tata calls for Bowe Bergdahl court-martial on Fox News
N.C. Transportation Secretary Tony Tata appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show Wednesday night to discuss whether Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl should be charged with desertion.
Tata’s take? A court-martial is needed for the soldier who walked away from his post in Afghanistan and was held captive by the Taliban.
“He absolutely walked away from his post, he deserted them, he absolutely needs to be tried for court-martial,” Tata told Hannity.
Tata was a regular commentator on Fox News for years, but stopped the appearances when he become superintendent of Wake County Schools. He hasn’t been seen on the network much lately.
Hannity didn’t bill Tata as transportation secretary. Instead, he was introduced as a retired brigadier general and the author of “Foreign and Domestic,” a spy thriller scheduled for release next month.
