State Rep. Duane Hall, who flirted with the idea of running for U.S. Senate, said Tuesday that he’ll run for reelection to his Raleigh House seat after all.
Hall, a Democrat in his second term, had been hesitant since he first discussed his interest in the Senate race. Democrats have struggled to find a candidate willing to challenge Republican U.S. Sen. Richard Burr, who is in his second term.
“My biggest concern all along was finding a credible challenge against Richard Burr and I believe that person will soon come forward,” he said in a statement.
Former state Rep. Deborah Ross, a Raleigh Democrat, has left her job at GoTriangle and is considering running.
Spring Lake Mayor Chris Rey announced last month that he is running.
