In the fight over Charlotte’s ordinance – since overturned by HB2 – that protected transgender people from discrimination, much of the debate was over safety.
Opponents said it would help sexual predators attack women and children more easily, but supporters said there’s no proof that those fears are based in fact.
The supporters are largely correct.
