Car in tow turns to car in flames, causing I-40 problem in Raleigh
Traffic on Interstate 40 eastbound in downtown came to a sudden halt Tuesday morning when a car being hauled by a tow truck caught fire, officials reported.
The smoky blaze shut down that side of the road a little after 10:30 a.m.
The backup made it hard for firefighters to get to the blaze initially, but they quickly put out the fire once they got there.
Police were then able to open one lane to traffic.
