Donna Hamilton: Deciding for little ladies

Regarding the April 23 news article “Bill to extend abortion wait heads to N.C. House”: Aren’t we little ladies lucky to have the legislature watching over us and helping us make decisions about our lives and our health?

Of course, we just aren’t smart enough to have carefully considered the consequences of abortion before we ask to have it performed. We don’t have enough sense to have discussed it with trusted advisers such as the baby’s father, our families, friends and members of the clergy. We certainly need another 72 hours to wait after painstakingly contemplating the physical and emotional impact of this decision.

Oh, wait, little ladies aren’t capable of painstaking deliberation. That’s why we have our General Assembly.
