J.D. Howard: Spread the wealth

I was shocked to see your Dec. 22 editorial “Story on a deadline” congratulating the return of a hard-earned sack of money. Readers of the editorial page understand that the man really didn’t deserve to have all that money and the waiter ideally should have kept some for himself. The man who worked hard and sold his business made that money on the backs of other people, and it’s his duty to spread it around. Nice try, N&O, but you aren’t fooling your readership!
