Bills Shut Down Trade Talks For Key WR After Offseason Comments
The Buffalo Bills came out of the 2026 NFL Draft with a decent group of players in a very important offseason.
The Bills prioritized defense early on, but then added some offensive players.
Here is the Bills' haul from the 2026 NFL Draft.
- Round 2: Clemson edge TJ Parker
- Round 2: Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun
- Round 4: Boston College OL Jude Bowry
- Round 4: UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell
- Round 4: TCU linebacker Kalen Elarms-Orr
- Round 5: South Carolinian safety Jalen Kilgore
- Round 5: Penn State defensive tackle Zane Durant
- Round 7: Missouri cornerback Toriano Pride Jr.
- Round 7: Florida punter Tommy Doman Jr.
- Round 7: Texas A&M guard Ar'Maj Reed-Adams
In the fallout of the draft, the Bills also reportedly received trade calls on WR Keon Coleman, but GM Brandon Beane admitted they shut them down and are giving Coleman a fresh start with the franchise.
"We had some people connect with us in Indy, at least one team there, and a couple between there and the owners' meetings. But we shut those down," Beane said, via Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN. "Our intention is for Keon to be here, and so I think the word was kind of out. So, no calls this weekend. We've hit the reset button with him, and hopefully the fan base and everyone's behind him. I think his best year is yet to come here in 2026."
Coleman, the Bills' second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, became a trade candidate after owner Terry Pegula said that the coaching staff made the push to draft Coleman and not the front office.
With Joe Brady in as the new head coach following the firing of Sean McDermott, that meant Coleman might be traded, but it seems the Bills are ready to keep him on the roster, at least for the time being.
Where Coleman Fits in the WR Room
The Bills' current WR room has Khalil Shakir and Joshua Palmer returning.
However, the Bills made a major splash by acquiring Chicago Bears WR DJ Moore in an offseason trade, and taking Bell in the fourth round was another solid boost to the group.
So, Coleman might be the WR3 or WR4 when the season begins, but it depends on how these guys perform in camp.
Coleman had 29 catches for 556 yards and four scores as a rookie and then 38 receptions for 404 yards and four scores in 2025, and he played 13 games each season.
