Giannis Antetokounmpo Reacts to Bucks Future With Telling 2-Word Message
Giannis Antetokounmpo remains under contract with the Milwaukee Bucks next season, though he holds a player option for 2027–28, assuming it gets that far.
There was a noticeable strain in Antetokounmpo's relationship with the Bucks front office, and while he was the subject of trade speculation for over a year, nothing came close to materializing despite growing frustration on both sides.
This offseason, multiple teams are expected to pursue him via trade. However, with the hiring of new head coach Taylor Jenkins, there is some intrigue around whether that could shift the outlook for the 31-year-old superstar.
For now, though, Antetokounmpo's latest comments have only fueled speculation that his time in Milwaukee could be nearing an end. When asked about the possibility of playing under Jenkins next season, he offered a brief but telling response: "We'll see."

Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam also made it clear this week that if the team does move Antetokounmpo, they would prefer to have a decision in place before the NBA Draft next month.
"I just think before the draft is a natural time," Haslam said. "Because if Giannis does play somewhere else, we've got to have a lot of assets."
The biggest priority for Antetokounmpo is competing for an NBA championship, and as currently constructed, the Bucks still appear to be a ways away from that goal, even with him on the roster.
Heading into the offseason, Milwaukee is projected to be over the salary cap while paying a max contract to Antetokounmpo. They are also still carrying the salary of Damian Lillard despite him no longer being on the roster, along with a sizable deal for Myles Turner worth roughly $108 million over four years.
In addition, Kyle Kuzma and Bobby Portis are both set to make over $14 million next season. In total, the Bucks are committed to four active players on deals exceeding $100 million combined, and when including Lillard's contract, the franchise is already pushing roughly $150 million in tied-up salary just for next season.
