Steph Curry, Warriors Hit With Stray in Charles Barkley-Draymond Green Beef

Star point guard Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors were dragged into the random beef between Draymond Green and Charles Barkley on Friday when the latter took a clear shot at the team.

“The Warriors haven’t been relevant for three or four years. They’ve been in the play-in, but when you’re in the play-in you’re not in the playoffs. I love Adam Silver, but the play-in was just a way to add more games to put on a different network,” he said.

“It’s been over in Golden State,” he continued with a laugh. “If Golden State was relevant, he wouldn’t be in the studio with me!”

Barkley’s comments came after Green took a personal shot at the analyst for suggesting the Warriors days of winning NBA championships were long gone.

"It's over for the Warriors," Barkley stated. "I mean, no disrespect, but it ends for every old team. You have your run. You get old. You all let Klay [Thompson] go. You and Steph [Curry are] on the back side of [your] careers. It just passed you by. You all had one of the greatest runs ever. You're not in the playoffs. You think you're going to get healthier for next year?

"You’re just going to get older. That’s no disrespect. You guys had one of the greatest runs of all time. If you want to compete, you’re going to have to leave there. If Steph wants to compete, he’s going to have to leave there. You're going to have to make that decision."

Green took exception to the comments and lashed out while pointing to Barkley’s twilight years in the NBA.

"I think the goal is just to not look like you in the Houston Rockets uniform," Green said. "It's ultimately the goal for us."

Barkley averaged just 16.5 points per game during his Rockets career, which was well below his 23.3 points per game in Philadelphia and Pheonix, but still well above the Warriors big man’s fewer than nine points per game.

Draymond Green, the floor is now yours.
