4-Star USC Commit Shuts Down Interest From ACC Powerhouse

The USC Trojans made a big splash in the 2027 recruiting class when landing wide receiver Eli Woodard. At 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, he is a four-star recruit, the No. 24 wide receiver and the No. 168 player in the nation, according to Rivals Industry Rankings.

He committed to the Trojans on Feb. 10, choosing them despite offers from the Michigan Wolverines, Missouri Tigers, Arizona State Sun Devils, Oregon Ducks, Utah Utes and Washington Huskies.

Since committing, though, several teams have been pushing for a flip. On April 30, On3's EJ Holland reported that the Miami Hurricanes extended an offer to Woodard. Luckily for USC, though, the interest isn't mutual.

When speaking to Rivals' Adam Gorney, Woodard clarified that he isn't rethinking his commitment to the Trojans, despite the new offer from the Hurricanes.

"It was a blessing to receive an offer from a school like that," Woodard said. "I'm 100 percent set on SC but they're trying."

"I feel like they're a school that's really believed in me throughout my whole high school career," he continued. "I feel like every time I go up there, the culture and everything, what they're trying to build, it's meant to be.

A strong 2025-26 season at Chaparral High School has made him an intriguing player for teams like Miami. The junior appeared in 12 games, accumulating 51 receptions for 1,070 yards and 17 touchdowns.

While the Hurricanes may continue their pursuit, it is up to the Trojans to hold on. Woodard is a vital piece to USC's 2027 recruiting class, which currently ranks first in the Big Ten and fourth in the nation with 13 commitments. He is one of three wide receivers in the group, alongside four-star Quentin Hale and three-star Roye Oliver.
