Best NRFI Bets Today

New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles NRFI (-110)

This matchup features Yankees LHP Max Fried and RHP Kyle Bradish for Baltimore. Fried cashed his end of a NRFI in his start against Baltimore May 3 in an 11-3 triumph. Bradish did the same the day before, and he hasn't given up an earned run in the first in any of his eight starts. He has allowed just four hits and three walks while fanning 10 in eight first frames. Meanwhile, Fried has a 3.00 ERA with 12 K's in nine first frames.

Los Angeles Angels at Cleveland Guardians NRFI (-160)

Not a lot of name value in this matchup, but the numbers speak for themselves. Angels LHP Reid Detmers has allowed just one ER in eight first frames this season, and opposing hitters are hitting just .111 against him in the first. Meanwhile, Guardians lefty Parker Messick hasn't allowed an earned run in eight first innings this season. The NRFI cashed in the first two games in this series.

San Diego Padres at Milwaukee Brewers NRFI (-150)

The Friars throw the filthy RHP Michael King to start the game. He'll face off against RHP Jacob Misiorowski - affectionately known as "The Miz." King hasn't allowed an earned run in the first in any of his eight starts. Misiorowski has allowed just two ER with 16 K's in eight first innings this season. This is arguably the pitching matchup of the day.

What Does NRFI Mean in Baseball?

The term NRFI indicates no runs scored in the first inning. Its opposite, YRFI, indicates yes, a run will be scored in the first inning. It doesn't matter if the run qualifies as an earned run or not. If a run crosses the plate in the first inning for either team, the wager loses for the NRFI side and wins for the YRFI side.
