Victor Wembanyama Earns Incredible Endorsement From LeBron James

Victor Wembanyama’s rise to superstardom has captured the attention of prominent figures around the NBA world - including all-time basketball great LeBron James.

James talked about the 7-foot-4 Frenchman during an appearance on the “Mind the Game” podcast with Steve Nash.

“He has the ability to do things that we haven’t seen in our league - ever,” James said. “You can tell by the way he talks, by his demeanor. He knows the game. He was taught the game the right way.”

“San Antonio continues to get lucky as [expletive] with these generational, talented, IQ, smart [players],” he continued. “[He’s] ‘Keep the main thing the main thing’ [like] David Robinson, Tim Duncan and now Wemby. Guys that have this dead-serious mentality. They have these horse blinders on and they’re like ‘The mission is the mission’ and that’s all that matters. It’s pretty remarkable to see.”

Wembanyama delivered an unforgettable performance in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, recording 41 points and 24 rebounds in a double-overtime victory over the reigning NBA-champion Oklahoma City Thunder. The unanimous Defensive Player of the Year had 21 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and four blocks in Game 2, but it wasn’t enough to beat Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder in a second consecutive game.
