MLB Announces Historic Dodgers Feat Not Seen in 9 Years

The back-to-back World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers are back to dominating following a slow start to May. The team has won three straight series and nine of 11 games. They are 33-20 and hold sole possession of first place in the National League West Division.

Not only has their offense found their groove, but their pitching has been historic. The Dodgers bullpen has not allowed a run since May 12th, they are riding a 38- consecutive inning scoreless streak, which is the longest of its kind since Cleveland went 38.2 innings scoreless in 2017, according to MLB.

The Dodgers have shattered their previous consecutive inning scoreless streak of 33, which was set in 1998.

Los Angeles tossed nine scoreless innings out of the bullpen during their series win against the Milwaukee Brewers over the weekend.

The historic streak has involved 12 different pitchers, with Edgardo Henriquez, Tanner Scott, Alex Vesia and Kyle Hurt leading the way with five scoreless appearances each.

What might be the most impressive part of this streak is that the Bullpen is doing it without All-Star Edwin Díaz. Díaz was signed to a massive three-year, $69 million dollar contract with the Dodgers this offseason.

His $23 million AAV sets a new MLB record for a reliever. While Díaz struggled in his first seven appearances with the team before going on the injured list, posting a 10.50 ERA, there is not much doubt that he will return to his dominant ways.

Los Angeles entered this season after battling the Toronto Blue Jays to game seven of the World Series to win their second consecutive championship. When they addressed their only flaw, being the closer role, with the best pitcher on the market, the expectations for them were set high.

Now their bullpen is dominating in spite of his injury. Along with their elite starting pitching from Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani, the Dodgers pitching staff has cemented themselves as one of the best in baseball.

In 2025, the Dodger bullpen posted a 4.27 ERA. But this season, they hold a league-leading 2.87 ERA. The reigning champions will undoubtedly be hunting for the major-league bullpen scoreless innings streak record, which was set by the 1962 Detroit Tigers with 45 2/3 scoreless innings.

The team will travel to Colorado on Tuesday to start a three-game series against their division rival Rockies, where they will look to extend their historic scoreless streak and continue their hot stretch.
