Caitlin Clark Immediately Regrets Swearing During Postgame Interview
Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark knows better than to cuss with her mother around.
Anne Nizzi-Clark was in attendance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday to watch her daughter help the Fever return to the winning column. Indiana defeated the Atlanta Dream 83-71 to move to 5-4 in the 2026 WNBA regular season.
After the game, Clark spoke to reporters about the intensity of a high-profile matchup. It marked the first Clark-Angel Reese showdown of 2026. It was also the first since Reese was traded from the Chicago Sky.
"We were both just hype and [expletive]" she told reporters, referring to head coach Stephanie White.
Clark stopped herself mid-thought, the realization hitting that mom was in the building.
"Excuse me, my mom's going to be mad if I say that," she said. "Hopefully she doesn't see that."

Clark has been in the headlines for the wrong reasons lately. Her season-low six-point output against the Portland Fire drew heavy criticism. An animated sideline exchange with Coach White also raised eyebrows across the league.
She tuned out the noise against the Dream. Clark finished with 17 points on just 6-of-17 shooting but made up for it elsewhere. She recorded eight assists and seven rebounds in 31 minutes.
Fellow All-Stars Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston also stepped up, scoring 25 and 19 points, respectively.
Family has always been a driving force for Clark. Boyfriend Connor McCaffery was also in the arena, adding to the support system that keeps her grounded.
Clark wears her passion on her sleeve. However, she just knows when to keep the language clean, especially with her folks around.
