Andre Agassi Shares 'Dirty Little Secret' Before Alexander Zverev's French Open Final

Alexander Zverev is one win away from finally ending his Grand Slam wait, but Andre Agassi has offered a reminder about what that moment really means. Zverev is heading into his fourth major final, and with Flavio Cobolli standing between him and the French Open title, many see this as his clearest path yet to a first Slam.

Agassi, though, knows from experience that winning does not magically remove pressure. In fact, he says the "dirty little secret" is that once a player gets over the line, the expectations only come back in a different form.

Before the finals while talking about Zverev's big opportunity, Agassi said, "You can win a slam, does it really change your life? You can say it, it is easy to say, but I don't know if it does. We have had a lot of one slam wonders… When I finally got over the finish line and I was let in on a dirty little secret, winning changes nothing. You are going to have that pressure again if you have more expectations from yourself."

For Zverev, Sunday is the kind of match that can change how people talk about his career.

He has been close too many times now. Each near-miss has added more weight to the next opportunity, and this one feels especially important because the draw has opened in a way that gives him a real chance. Still, Grand Slam finals are rarely simple, and Cobolli is not just there to make up the numbers.

The Italian has been one of the stories of the tournament. He has played with confidence, handled big moments well, and already knows he can trouble Zverev on clay. That makes this less of a formality and more of a dangerous final for the German.

Zverev will want to keep things steady, serve well, and use his backhand to control rallies. Cobolli's best chance is to stay aggressive early, take time away, and make Zverev feel the pressure of the occasion.

There is also the emotional side. Paris has not always been kind to Zverev, but now it offers him another shot at the prize he has been chasing for years.

Cobolli is chasing a dream. Zverev is chasing relief, validation, and the one title that would finally end the conversation.
