Analyzing the possible seeds for ACC tournament
The bottom three seeds are set for the ACC tournament next week in Washington. The other 11 spots (Louisville is sitting out under a self-imposed postseason ban) will be decided with Saturday’s games.
North Carolina controls its fate for the top seed, based on its 96-71 win over Miami on Feb. 20. The Tar Heels close out the regular season at Duke on Saturday night (6:30 p.m.). Either Miami or Virginia can still be the No. 1 seed but only if UNC loses.
N.C. State (12), Wake Forest (13) and Boston College (14) are locked into their seeds and will open the tournament on Tuesday at the Verizon Center in Washington. The Wolfpack and Demon Deacons will kickoff the tournament at noon. Boston College will play the No. 10 seed (either Georgia Tech or Florida State) at 2:30 p.m.
